Meet the Staff
Amanda is the Front Desk Receptionist and also assists in our optical lab and performs automated visual fields for patients. She has been with InSight EyeCare since 2002 and enjoys working with people and the great staff. In addition to working at InSight EyeCare, Amanda also waitresses at a local restaurant and is a Sunday School teacher. Amanda resides in Calumet with her husband Ken and their three boys.
Beth is an Optometric Technician and has been with InSight EyeCare since 2005. Her duties include performing preliminary eye examinations and computerized refractions with patients and working in the optical lab. She enjoys reading, Bible study, hiking, skiing, and spending time outdoors. She is from Wausau, WI and has survived Copper Country winters since 2005. She resides in Hancock, MI with her husband and 16 tropical fish.
Mallory is an Optometric Technician and our Frame and Lens Specialist. She is the fashionista of the frames and does all of the frame purchasing. Mallory enjoys singing karaoke, watching the Detroit Lions and Montreal Canadiens, walking, traveling to different places and, of course, work. Her favorite vacation spots are Malibu, California and New York City. She also has attended Vision Expo East in New York City. She joined our staff in July of 2006 and is the youngest member of the office. She is a 2004 graduate of Calumet High School and she resides in Hancock, MI.
Jennifer is an Optometric Technician and has been with InSight EyeCare since August 2009. Jennifer performs preliminary eye examinations and computerized refractions with patients, as well as contact lens ordering and stocking. She moved to the area in 2007 with her husband Josh, who is a student at Michigan Tech. She has a young son, Garren, and in her free time enjoys camping, traveling, and spending time with family
Aaron came to InSight EyeCare in 2006 as an intern while attending high school. He is a 2007 graduate of Calumet High School and currently studying pre-optometry at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI. He frequently rejoins our staff on his summer break and holidays from college. Aaron assists in our optical lab and dispensary and administers diagnostic tests including automated visual fields.
Cydne Mitchell is the Office Manager and Billing Specialist in addition to being Dr. Mitchell’s wife. She grew up downstate in Farmington Hills, Michigan and received a two year degree at Northwood University in Midland, MI. She and Dr. Mitchell and two sons moved to Laurium in 1990 to start up the optometric practice in Laurium. Their sons both graduated from Calumet High School; Aaron currently resides in Cincinnati, Ohio and Brandon is living in beautiful southern California. Cydne enjoys walking, bicycling,cross country skiing, boating and spending time outdoors.
